Fairmont Pacific Rim, in partnership with Equinox Gallery, presents Close To Home at The Pacific Gallery, now on display. The collection is part of the hotel’s celebration of Canada and the country’s rich artistic and cultural landscape, and will be on view through September 2026.
Bringing together nine artists across generations, the exhibition explores a sustained and deeply personal engagement with the landscapes that surround them, reflecting diverse perspectives on place, memory, and connection to home.
The Pacific Gallery, already home to an evolving collection of contemporary art, will feature works by Kim Dorland, Fred Herzog, Gathie Falk, Rob Nicholls, Phillipe Raphanel, Ben Reeves, Gordon Smith, Takao Tanabe and Jeff Wall.
Rooted in the expansive landscapes of British Columbia, these artists transform the familiar into something deeply resonant through close and continual observation, revealing nuanced perspectives on the everyday. Together, the exhibition reflects a distinctly Canadian point of view — shaped by nature, place, memory, and a profound connection to home.
