Fairmont Pacific Rim, in partnership with Equinox Gallery, presents You Are Here at The Pacific Gallery, now on display. Although Herzog photographed neighbourhoods throughout the city, this exhibition focuses on images taken within a five-square kilometer radius of the Fairmont Pacific Rim, and offers a glimpse into Vancouver’s history through the eyes of a pioneering figure in early colour street photography.
Discover the distinctive vision of Fred Herzog, the celebrated Vancouver photographer whose vibrant colour photography transformed everyday city life into art. From neon-lit storefronts to rain-soaked streets and quiet urban moments, Herzog captured Vancouver with an intimate eye, preserving the character and colour of a city in constant evolution.
The Pacific Gallery, already home to an evolving collection of contemporary art, will feature works by Kim Dorland, Gathie Falk, Rob Nicholls, Phillipe Raphanel, Ben Reeves, Gordon Smith, Takao Tanabe and Jeff Wall.
