We are pleased to share that Fairmont Pacific Rim was recently featured in the Vancouver Sun to highlight our recent 10 year anniversary of the hotel opening, just days before the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, BC. The article speaks to the poetry on the side of the hotel, crafted by Liam Gillick, one of the most prominent and important figures to have emerged in international contemporary art since the mid-1990’s, and the award-winning dining options located within the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star property.
“How time flies when you’re living the luxury life.
It seems like only yesterday that the distinctive, 44-storey tower at the corner of Burrard and West Cordova sprang to life, its multi-floor poem ringing the south and eastern exteriors stopping dumbfounded Vancouverites in their tracks. A decade later Liam Gillick’s words still have onlookers squinting to the sky trying to figure out what it all means, but there’s no longer any mystery surrounding the Fairmont Pacific Rim, as the upscale hotel has settled into the Coal Harbour neighbourhood as one of the best hotels in the city with dining and lounge establishments to match.
The official opening was on Feb. 5, 2010, just days before the start of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. To celebrate the milestone, the hotel is offering a number of deals designed for globetrotters and locals alike.”
