Five Things To Do Near Rogers Arena Before A Canucks Game

May 8th, 2024

The Vancouver Canucks came out on top for their first-round series against the Nashville Predators, and are moving ahead into the second round against the Edmonton Oilers starting Wednesday, May 8! Whether you are visiting Vancouver for the first time or just looking for pre-game activities downtown, here are five things to do near Rogers Arena before watching a Canucks playoff game.

Stroll Through the Scenic Seawall

Vancouver is known for its scenic walking and biking routes, and what better way to spend an afternoon before the game than to stroll, or cycle, through the Vancouver seawall. The surrounding area near Rogers Arena is the False Creek seawall. You can walk anywhere from English Bay Beach to Science World on the north side, or you can cycle your way through the south side anywhere from Science World to Kitsilano Beach and beyond. Either way, you can experience breathtaking views of the city and the North Shore mountains before getting ready for the game!

At Fairmont Pacific Rim, utilize our in-house Bike Service and choose from a selection of bicycles, including Norco mechanical bikes and Mercedes electric bikes. Guests staying in suites and ALL Live Limitless Platinum members will receive a complimentary ride for two hours. Learn more about our Bike Service here

Go for Karaoke

Downtown Vancouver is home to some great karaoke bars. Whether it’s singing your lungs out before the game to practice your cheer or celebrating with friends post-game, karaoke is a quintessential Vancouver experience. SWITCH is a contemporary karaoke bar located in Vancouver’s shopping district, Robson Street. They also feature a bar food, drinks and Happy Hour menu.

Take a Ferry Ride to Granville Island Public Market

On a sunny day, a fun way to visit Granville Island Public Market is taking a unique ferry ride. The closest dock to Rogers Arena is by David Lam Park, where Aquabus ferries stop by every 15 minutes or less. All of the Aquabus vessels are pet-friendly, wheelchair accessible, bike friendly and great for large groups. Discover boutique shops and shop for artisanal gifts before heading for the big game!

Explore the World Through Flyover
