Concierge Edition: Fall Activities in Vancouver

From strolling along the world’s longest uninterrupted seawall to enjoying autumn-inspired cocktails, Vancouver offers a plethora of fall activities.

September 26th, 2024

Fall in Vancouver brings a peaceful charm, making it the perfect time to enjoy its parks, mountains and vibrant cultural scene. The crisp air and changing colours of Stanley Park’s towering trees create a picturesque backdrop for outdoor strolls. The city’s scenic seawall, framed by fiery hues of red, orange and gold, invites you to take in the scenery by foot or bicycle.

We caught up with our talented VIP Concierges, Katiuska Lopez and Sue Yoon, to discover their top recommendations for fall activities in Vancouver – along with a seasonal cocktail to match the mood.

Katiuska’s recommendations

“Walking along the Seawall is my favourite thing to do in the fall. I enjoy spending my free time admiring the natural beauty that Vancouver offers, such as the mountains, and feeling the fresh breeze coming from the ocean. The combination of colours between the mountains and the ocean is just spectacular!

I recently learned that Vancouver is home to one of the world’s longest uninterrupted seawalls, stretching nearly 28 kilometers. Whether walking or biking, you can explore an array of sights along the way, including iconic spots like Stanley Park, English Bay, False Creek and Granville Island.

My go-to fall-inspired drink is the Port Royal Daiquiri, made with Diplomático – a premium rum from Venezuela. It’s the perfect blend of warmth and spice for the season. If you’re looking to try it yourself, you can order this cocktail at any Fairmont Gold Lounge.”

“Autumn is a wonderful time to admire the vibrant foliage, take leisurely strolls along the seawall with my dog and enjoy breathtaking sunsets over English Bay. I enjoy visiting Granville Island, where I often take an Aqua Taxi from False Creek to the Public Market to procure fresh farm products for preparing delectable meals. During inclement weather, I seek solace in the local coffee shops, particularly Greenhorn in the West End and Perfecto Cafe in Yaletown.

I enjoy indulging in comfort food and noodle soup during the autumn season. My favourite spots include Homer Street Cafe for its Rotisserie Chicken dish and Fat Mao Downtown for Tom Yum Seafood Noodles and Roti with curry.”
