“The art program is spread throughout the city. A walking tour can start at your hotel, depending on where you stay. The Fairmont Pacific Rim boasts a remarkable art program (and offers guests an audio tour to help see it) with works from Liam Gillick and Fred Herzog, among others. The exterior courtyard boasts an intricate light installation by Omer Arbel for Bocci, while at one corner of the building’s exterior, on floors five through 22, Liam Gillick’s two-foot tall concrete letters, in Helvetica, repeat the phrase “lyingontopofabuilding…”. Inside, lose yourself in Adad Hannah’s 2013 video piece, Black Water Ophelia, which gives appropriated buoyancy to an 1858 painting of the tragic Shakespearean character.”
