July 23 – 30 Madison will be traveling travel to Vancouver where she will be in-residence and live the ‘suite life’ in a Fairmont Gold Owner’s Suite. During her stay she will dine at our restaurants, take in the best of the West Coast through two excursions to inspire creation and music writing, and be filmed and featured in a video series, record at a top recording studio in the city, win $5,000 cash and headline the launch event in The Lobby Lounge on July 25.

The Pacific Rim Life incorporates art, music fashion and the west coast lifestyle. Madison’s song, Moments in the Mountains, “meshes with the overall sense of the Fairmont Pacific Rim experience, which offers a beautiful mountainous landscape and the world renowned Vancouver leisure and lifestyle, combined with upper urban cultural flair that art and fashion provide,” explains Madison, and “the song lyrics mention the worldly traveler where no matter how far he travels and how much he sees and learns, these moments in the mountains will always call him home to Vancouver.”

Our judging panel, which consisted of five celebrated industry leaders, had a tough job as they reviewed the contest finalists. We were overwhelmed with talented song submissions, and received over 150 entries in the 30 days the contest was open. The submissions came in from across the nation and were a great blend of various musical genres.

Jeffrey Latimer, CEO of Canada’s Walk of Fame and President of JL Entertainment, shares, “it was exciting to listen to the caliber of talent that submitted original scores and it’s refreshing to see how many solo artists are creating music in our country. This contest was special in its request for stories of the West Coast and our winner, Madison Olds, has a bright and beautiful sound that is both accessible and powerful.”
