5 reasons to escape to Vancouver this summer

We may be slightly biased, but there are many reasons to add Vancouver and Fairmont Pacific Rim to your bucket list this summer. Whether you are a local looking to stay downtown for a change of scenery, visiting from another city within British Columbia, or perhaps residing in Alberta, Yukon or Ontario and are looking to explore Canada’s most beautiful city later this summer when it is safe to do so, we’ve rounded up five reasons to add Fairmont Pacific Rim to your upcoming plans.

June 16th, 2021

1. A Very Limited Time Offer on Overnight Stays is Available Until June 18
When we say this is the most exciting offer of the summer, we mean it! Bookable only until June 18 for stays until January 31, 2022, our limited time offer is the best reason to live the Pacific Rim Life. Just click here to pick your desired dates and unlock the exclusive discount.

2. We have the city’s most unique outdoor patio
Just recently opened in our front plaza, we have the summer’s most unique outdoor patio, Oakridge x Pac Rim Patio. Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Executive Chef Damon Campbell’s new food truck stands centre stage, serving a playful menu of appetizers to mains with ever-changing desserts. Guests can choose from options including the Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, Asian Crunch Noodle Salad, or the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, all dressed to go and ready to enjoy outdoors. To accompany the menu, award-winning Creative Beverage Director Grant Sceney has assembled a line-up of handcrafted cocktails for the patio, alongside some of Strathcona’s most popular craft beers, and a wine list featuring rosé from cult-favourite BC vineyards and Old World classics. This weekend only on Saturday, June 19, Fleur de Villes will be setting up a flower market between 11am and 5pm.

3. Botanist and The Lobby Lounge & RawBar are Open for Indoor Dining
We are so thrilled to be able to welcome guests back to our tables at both Botanist and The Lobby Lounge & RawBar. At Botanist, Executive Chef Hector Laguna has taken the bounty of the season’s best to create new menu items including a Kampachi Crudo, Olive Poached Halibut, and an Oven Roasted Rib-Eye. Toast to the weekend at Botanist with brunch: enjoy a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival, a cocktail to sip, and choice of a two or three course brunch experience. In The Lobby Lounge & RawBar find all of your favourite sushi rolls, a newly re-designed All-Day Menu with dishes such as the Braised Beef Sandwich, Superfood Salad, Pesto Chicken Sandwich, and the cult-favourite Pacific Rim Nachos. Book your Botanist reservation now as reservations fill up quickly.

4. An Impressive Art Collection
Recently, the hotel has become the latest resting place of Douglas Coupland‘s two-meter tall Japanese mascot figure ‘Moneyboy’ and ‘Moneygirl.’ The two figures take center stage atop the marble fireplace in The Lobby Lounge. Located on the second floor of the hotel, TASCHEN Library presents a diverse portfolio of eye-catching books that celebrate innovation and cultural creativity. Over 275 books are available, ranging from TASCHEN’s affordable artist monographs to their prestigious limited and signed Collector’s Editions. Fairmont Pacific Rim is home to a growing international art collection. To fuel an artful passion, while staying with us, we invite you to discover the art and artistry of the hotel’s growing international art collection. Click here to learn more.

5. Shop Celebrity Favourite – Leah Alexandra Jewelry
Designed and made in her Vancouver studio, Leah Alexandra is our featured retailer who has popped up in our lobby with a collection of her beautiful gemstone adorned jewelry. Leah’s designs have been featured in internationally recognized publication such as Vogue and Elle, as well as worn by countless celebrities like Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, and gold medal Olympian Tessa Virtue.
