Buy a Cocktail, Support a Journey

Botanist Bartender Max Curzon-Price recently won the BC regionals for the Bacardi Legacy Competition, a competition created to test the world’s most passionate, innovative and inspiring bartenders.

December 19th, 2019

His cocktail creation “Plight of the Bumblebee” will take him to the Canadian finals next year in Puerto Rico. Max was also part of the award-winning bar team who took home the title of ‘BOLS Around the World’ World’s Best Bar team at the global finals alongside teammates Grant Sceney and Jeff Savage earlier this year.

The BACARDI® Legacy Cocktail competition showcases the ‘best of the best’ in the global cocktail trade, providing a stage from which participants can share their innovative creations. Participants are challenged to create the next generation of classic rum cocktails using Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold rum and Bacardi 8. Classic cocktails are defined by their balance, flavour, quality, popularity and the story behind them. For that reason, Max wanted to create a unique Bacardi Legacy cocktail that is more than just a great tasting drink; it is a drink that stands the test of time and becomes established in the industry.

Plight Of The Bumblebee is a simple, yet impactful cocktail; easily produced all over the world. It celebrates bio-diversity and leaves a legacy behind where future generations of bartenders can continue to find inspiration in their gardens and closer to home.

Plight Of The Bumblebee
