On November 1 and 2, 2024, Fairmont Pacific Rim will mark its third annual celebration of Día de los Muertos with a weekend of special activations throughout the hotel. This year’s events will bring the rich traditions of the holiday to life with a collaboration featuring renowned mixologists Tito Pin-Perez and Álvaro García, co-founders of Vertical Comedor Evolutivo from Mexico’s Bajío region.

botanist bar takeover
The festivities begin on Friday, November 1, with a special takeover at Botanist Bar. Vertical will join forces with the Botanist Bar team to present a special cocktail menu inspired by the vibrant traditions of Día de los Muertos – expect bold flavours and imaginative presentations.

On Saturday, November 2, the celebrations move to The Lobby Lounge & RawBar for a themed pop-up event. Tito Pin-Perez and Álvaro García will host an evening of curated cocktails, live music and entertainment, transforming the space into an immersive cultural experience. Their innovative cocktails, rooted in the flavours of contemporary Mexico, invite guests to savour the moment and connect with the deeper meaning of the holiday.
industry seminar: paving your own path
In addition to our evening events, on Friday, November 1 at 2:00pm at Botanist Garden, Tito and Álvaro will host an exclusive industry seminar titled “Paving Your Own Path”, where they’ll share their experiences in creating and developing bar concepts, including Vertical. Tito, the recipient of Mexico’s Bartender of the Year 2024 award by Culinaria Mexicana, along with his co-founder, will draw on more than a decade of experience in globally renowned bars. Guests will have the chance to refine their tequila-tasting skills with an engaging blind tasting experience led by Patrón. Explore the subtle distinctions between various tequila styles and qualities.
