Though we may be patiently awaiting the snowflakes to start falling, the 2017 holiday season is officially in full swing. Whether you’re a eggnog connoisseur, a bright lights fanatic or a real life Ebenezer Scrooge, we have rounded up the best things to see, do and taste in December in our Vancouver Holiday Events Guide.

CANYON LIGHTS AT THE CAPLIANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE
November 23 – January 28 | 11:00 am – 9:00pm

Holiday activities start at 4:00pm | Closed Christmas Day
Glittering lights, towering heights and festive nights – Canyon Lights returns for its 11th
season! Re-capture the feeling of wonder and excitement of the holiday season and be
amazed by the hundreds of thousands of lights throughout the park. The suspension
bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk, the rainforest and canyon are transformed into a
world of festive lights and visual enchantment. See 30-ton Douglas firs lit above and
below the collars, go on a Snowy Owl Prowl, decorate gingerbread cookies and make your
own Christmas card, and sing-along with the holiday band. Complimentary shuttle service
available from Canada Place.

Insider tip: your furry friends are allowed inside the park, so long as they are on a leash.

PEAK OF CHRISTMAS AT GROUSE MOUNTAIN
November 24 – January 7

Visit Vancouver’s North Pole. See how magical elves have transformed Grouse Mountain
into the North Pole where you can have breakfast with Santa, visit his workshop, meet
real reindeer or vote for your favourite creation in our Gingerbread Village. This Christmas,
believe again.

Access to the Peak of Christmas is included with your Annual Local’s Pass, Y2Play or
Winter Season Pass as well as regular Alpine Experience tickets.

FESTIVAL OF TREES
November 30 – January 1

This year Festival of Trees Vancouver is celebrating its 31st anniversary with an enchanted
forest of decorated trees to raise funds for the most urgent needs at BC Children’s
Hospital. Generous individuals, corporations and community groups show support of the
sickest children in BC, while enhancing their visibility and brand awareness.
Visitors are encouraged to visit the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and CF Pacific Centre
Mall from November 30, 2017 through January 1, 2018 to donate and vote for their
favourite tree.

VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS MARKET
November 22 – December 24 | 11:00am – 9:00pm

The Vancouver Christmas Market, located in Jack Poole Plaza, is guaranteed to get you in
the festive mood! Stroll through the festively decorated outdoor German styled Christmas
village and be treated to row upon row of illuminated wooden huts offering handmade
gifts and tempting treats. Listen to the sounds of bells, trumpeters and carolers. As day
becomes night, thousands of Christmas lights sparkle and delicious aromas of mulled
wine and spicy gingerbread waft through the air.
Use parking code ‘BEMERRY’ for $23 self parking at Fairmont Pacific Rim. For valet parking,
please see our Doorman – the guy with the hat! (max five hours)

Insider tip: be sure to try a glass (or two) of the mulled wine.

This winter, renew a classic Vancouver tradition and enjoy some old-fashioned fun at
Robson Square’s outdoor skating rink. Come and celebrate winter in style with free skating

CHRISTMAS AT CANADA PLACE
November 23 – December 31 | 8:00am – 11:00pm, FREE Admission

Capture the spirit of the season at Canada Place! Join us in celebrating the 30th annual
Christmas at Canada Place presented by the Port of Vancouver. Running for five weeks
this year from November 23 until December 31, you are invited to experience the nostalgic
tradition of the Woodward’s Windows, a magical holiday lighting display, the Sails of Light,
and the festive Avenue of Christmas Trees.

HOLIDAY COCKTAILS AT THE LOBBY LOUNGE
November 16 – January 1

The Lobby Lounge elves are working hard this season to stir up festive libations, sure to bring out the holiday cheer. Featuring live music served seven days a week starting at 12:00pm; it’s the city’s hottest destination to sip and socialize.

December 26 & 27 | BC Place

Contact Winter Music Festival is Western Canada’s largest two-day stadium event. This 19+
festival draws some of the worlds biggest DJs and producers to Vancouver, while pushing
the boundaries and expectations of the electronic music scene in Western Canada. One of
the many features that make this festival stand out are the exterior LED lights at BC Place
that display sound waves in time with music going on inside.
