We want to introduce Merina Chandra, our Wedding Manager at Fairmont Pacific Rim. Merina began her career in Makeup, Bridal Fashion and Wedding planning, with a makeup diploma from Blanche Macdonald and a certificate in Event Management from Vancouver Community College. She joined us from the Fairmont Vancouver Airport and has been planning show-stopping weddings ever since. She enjoys being able to assist couples create their perfect event and design it to be unique. She loves finding something special about them and incorporating it into little details to make their day unforgettable. Outside of work she enjoys family and travelling with good food and good champagne. Being a true city girl, she enjoys relaxing in New York City and Las Vegas, where she got engaged to her now husband in the most elaborate fashion.

I managed high-end Bridal Boutiques and was the Sales Specialist for luxury brands such as Vera Wang, in addition to having my own wedding planning company
My best insider tip for brides-to-be
There will always be the “we have to have…” or “we need to do…” Break tradition and think outside the box. Spend your time investigating in what is special to the two of you. Your day goes by too quickly and you’ll be happy to spend your time on things that will make you the happiest to look back on.
What I love most about my job
The creativity. Nothing is more rewarding than developing a unique creative concept and vision and seeing it come to life. Personalizing and making each event one-of-a-kind is a challenge, but it is the most rewarding feeling to see the final product.
My favourite spot in the city
Anywhere that has good food, an abundance of Champagne and great company.
