Musician Profile: Mike Henry

Mike Henry began his professional career in the 80’s in Las Vegas singing gospel and playing the casino lounge circuit. He arrived in Vancouver in 1989 and has since honed his skills in Reggae, R&B and Top 40. Mike frequents The Lobby Lounge weekly and his smooth tone and powerful vocals. We recently sat down with him to learn a little more about the Mostley Marley artist.

Reggae, R&B, Top 40

 

What instruments do you play?

The vocal instrument of voice

 

How did you discover your passion and talent for music?

Sang as a child in talent shows in school

 

How long have you been practicing your craft?

About 30 years

 

Favourite song to play?

Redemption by Bob Marley

 

Favourite song to listen to?

My Old School by Steely Dan

 

What would people be surprised to know about you?

Excelled in painting & drawing art in school

 

On your day off we would find you…

Downhill skiing in the winter and camping and hiking in the summer

 

Its 4am on a Saturday night, what would you eat?

Pizza

 

What is your favourite cocktail?

Vodka Cranberry
