Vancouver, BC (June 19, 2025) – This summer, Fairmont Pacific Rim unveils Figures at The Pacific Gallery. On view from June 10 through September 1, 2025, this curated selection of works in partnership with Equinox Gallery invites guests to immerse themselves in a powerful exploration of the human figure through the lens of some of Canada’s most celebrated and thought-provoking artists.
The Pacific Gallery, already home to an evolving collection of contemporary art, will feature works by Douglas Coupland, Adad Hannah, and Angela Grossmann, all three of whom hold deep, longstanding ties to the hotel and Vancouver’s creative and cultural community.
The exhibition also features bold oil paintings, intimate sketches and experimental photography by an exceptional lineup of contemporary and historical artists, such as Kim Dorland, Sonny Assu, Jeff Wall, Rodney Graham, Cindy Sherman, Renée Van Halm, Maxwell Bates, and Eadweard Muybridge, among others. Each artist explores the figure in ways that challenge, celebrate, and redefine human identity – through bold brushstrokes, archival photography, conceptual portraiture, and mixed-media expression.
Guest will encounter an impactful installation that reflects the broader exhibition’s themes of presence, identity, vulnerability, and the shared experience of being human – all within the context of a modern luxury environment. The featured works offer a compelling narrative that aligns with the hotel’s position as a cultural and social hub in downtown Vancouver.
